The Spot Preschool has been providing quality childcare since 1979. We believe that the child is central to our service and has the right to positive experiences.
Located at The Spot, Randwick in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs we have been providing quality child care and making many happy memories for hundreds of children for over 35 years.

HOURS OF OPERATION: Monday to Friday 7:30 am to 5:30 pm. The centre is closed on public holidays.
PAYMENT OF FEES: Fees can be paid by direct debit providing they are always one (1) week in advance.
FEES ARE STILL PAYABLE IF YOUR CHILD IS AWAY SICK, FOR PUBLIC HOLIDAYS AND OR FAMILY HOLIDAYS.
There are five staff employed at The Spot Pre School with a wide range of qualifications from Bachelor of Teaching (ECE) to Diploma in Community Services. The staff work in a creative team and are chosen for their warmth and genuine concern for the care and development of children.
You are encouraged to approach them with any concerns you may have or just for a general chat.

BIG DAD JEAN ROMAIN
Hi, I am Jean Romain Mabeka,
but the children quite a few years ago started calling me ‘Big Dad’ and the name stayed on.
I hold a Degree in Medicine and have been Director of The Spot Pre School since February 1985.
I have dedicated over 35 years to the child care industry and I strongly believe in guiding and encouraging children towards positive and responsible behaviour through guidance and role modelling.
MISS CHRISTINE MABEKA
Hi, My name is Christine Mabeka.
I am the coordinator of The Spot Pre School.
I have a degree in Early Childhood and I take care of the various administration and enquiries about enrolments, fees, government subsidies and attendance.
I have been at the centre since 1985 and I welcome parents to participate in the centre’s curriculum to share aspects of their lifestyle and be part of our family.
MISS KALI SEKHAS
Hi, My name is Kali Sekhas.
I hold a Diploma in Children’s Services. I have been at the Spot Pre School since January 2001
My belief is to know each child on a personal basis to provide an individual program tailored to the child’s interests.
You are always welcomed to share any aspect of your child’s development.
MISS ROSA MERLINO
Hello everyone, My name is Rosa Merlino.
I have been part of the team since March 2002. I have a Diploma in Community Services (Children’s Services).
I believe in providing the children with opportunities to develop an understanding of themselves, others, and the world around them.

Hello, My name is Maxime Mabeka.
I have a Diploma in Community Services (Children’s Services).
I joined the team in September 2007 and haven’t looked back since.
I enjoy my work and believe in fostering in each child the right to develop a strong sense of trust, self-esteem and self respect.
